    Upscale takes it to 4K

Resizing never makes a photo bigger: enlarging adds pixels but no detail. Upscale takes a photo Luala made to 2K or 4K and draws the detail in.

It works on photos you make in Luala, not on the photos you resize here.

    The photo sizes TikTok uses

TikTok shows your profile photo in a small circle; 400 × 400 pixels stays sharp on any phone. Photo posts fill the screen at 1080 × 1920, a 9:16 shape.

Pick a format and each photo is scaled to fit inside it, keeping its own shape. An upright phone photo is 3:4, so in a photo post it comes out 1080 × 1440 and TikTok shows it with space above and below.

    Questions

What size is a TikTok profile photo?

TikTok asks for at least 200 × 200 pixels. At 400 × 400 it stays sharp, and TikTok shows it as a circle.

What size is a TikTok photo post?

    1080 × 1920 pixels, the 9:16 shape of a phone screen.

    Is my photo cropped?

No. It's fitted inside the format and keeps its shape, so nothing you framed is cut off.

    Are my photos uploaded?

No. Your browser resizes them on this device. They aren't sent to Luala or anywhere else.
