Zoom in crops close, at full size
A tight crop keeps only the pixels inside the frame, so it comes out small. Zoom in cuts the frame from a photo Luala made and rebuilds it at full size.
It works on photos you make in Luala, not on the photos you crop here.

Add a few selfies. Luala makes photos of you at a café, on a mountain trail, out with a dog and at dinner, all of the same person.
See AI dating photosThe photo shape dating apps show
Tinder and Hinge show profile photos as tall portraits, about 4:5. Frame each photo in that shape and it's saved at 1080 × 1350 pixels.
You pick what the card shows: your face, not the ceiling above it. The location your phone saved in the photo is left out of the JPG.
Questions
What size should a Tinder photo be?
A 4:5 portrait such as 1080 × 1350 pixels fills the profile card.
And a Hinge photo?
The same 4:5 portrait. Crop it once and use it on both.
Why is my photo smaller than 1080 × 1350?
The frame holds fewer pixels of your photo than that, usually after zooming far in. It's kept at the size the frame holds, in the right shape. A photo is never made bigger: enlarging adds pixels but no detail.
Does the photo still say where it was taken?
No. Where and when it was taken and the phone it was taken on are left out of the JPG.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Your browser crops them on this device. They aren't sent to Luala or anywhere else.
