Zoom in crops close, at full size

A tight crop keeps only the pixels inside the frame, so it comes out small. Zoom in cuts the frame from a photo Luala made and rebuilds it at full size.

It works on photos you make in Luala, not on the photos you crop here.

    The image sizes YouTube uses

A video thumbnail is 1280 × 720, the 16:9 shape of the video. Frame the photo in it and the thumbnail fills its slot with no bars at the sides.

The channel banner is 2560 × 1440, but only TVs show all of it: computers and phones show a strip across the middle, so keep words and faces there. The profile picture is an 800 × 800 square shown as a circle, and the circle on the frame is the part that shows.

    Questions

What size is a YouTube thumbnail?

1280 × 720 pixels, the 16:9 shape of the video.

What size is a channel banner?

2560 × 1440 pixels. TVs show all of it; computers and phones show a strip across the middle.

What if my photo is smaller than that?

It's kept at the size the frame holds, in the right shape. A photo is never made bigger: enlarging adds pixels but no detail.

    Are my photos uploaded?

No. Your browser crops them on this device. They aren't sent to Luala or anywhere else.
