When a PNG is the wrong file
PNG stores every pixel exactly. That's right for a logo or a screenshot of text, and heavy for a photo: a phone photo saved as PNG is often three to five times the size of the same photo as a JPG, too big for many upload forms and email attachments.

Are my images uploaded?
No. Your browser converts them on this device. They aren't sent to Luala or anywhere else.
How much smaller will it be?
For a photo, usually a fraction of the PNG. Each row shows the new file's size. A screenshot of flat colours shrinks less and can even grow.
What happens to see-through parts?
A JPG can't be see-through, so they turn white. To keep them, convert to WebP on the Convert image page, or keep the PNG.
Can I drop other formats here too?
Yes. A WebP, GIF or iPhone HEIC comes back as a JPG as well.
How many can I convert at once?
As many as you choose. They're converted one after another, and once two are done you can download them all as one zip.
